I wanted to express my frustration with the price increase that Rock Band 4 players saw this week on the weekly Rock Band DLC.
Rock Band songs have been $1.99 since the beginning of the franchise. This week, without warning, Sony increased the price of these content items to $2.99 for Canadian users only. Indications from the developers were that the price increase was Sony's decision and Harmonix had no input into the increase. Apparently this was done because of the poor Canadian dollar exchange rate.
I can appreciate that prices for items go up - however, in this case the Canadian dollar is not nearly as bad as it was years ago when the price was originally set. And a 50% increase the price does not seem to be warranted given that the Canadian dollar is around 30% - 35% lower than the US dollar.
Unfortunately this pricing decision means I will be spending less money on Rock Band DLC, which impacts both Sony and the developer. Has this pricing change affected other PSN games in Canada? Would be interested in hearing from other Canadians on this topic.
