I know I'm a little late on the game with this update, but just recently got the ps4 back onto internet.
It won't update. Won't let us connect to PSN.
Try to sign into PSN and it wants me to update.
Won't update BECAUSE I'm not signed into PSN.
It's vicious cycle.
-What we have done:
Connection test (All pass except for PSN connection)
Turned off internet router, and turned back on
Turned off/unplugged PS4 and turned back on
Tried to go into system updates vs having the notification clicky thing have us update
What we haven't done is tried to install using a USB. I don't think I have one that has enough space for that file, nor do I even know where it could be. It's from my high school days.
BF just bought Need for Speed he didn't look at the back and see "ONLINE ONLY" before he bought it (LOL, poor kid)
However because of that it's when we noticed all the issues with PSN, internet, and the update. It's been a few months since the update came out, I don't see the reason being that there is too much traffic trying to update anymore.
This isn't my PS4, and I don't think he'd be very happy with resetting the whole thing.
Right now it's sitting on the "Please Wait" screen as it attempts to load the download file. I got it to where it starts to update, but then it says something about the time limit, or timed out. It also said it had 24 hours left lol no way jose
edit: okay. it is downloading the update file, but it just sits there and won't update anything. it gets about half way then stops. I guess that's why it hit that time out whatever. There was 4 hours, and now there is 60.
/all we have had with the ps4 is problems. never had anything like this with the ps3
