Death threat from another gamer

My son received a recorded message from another gamer he knows from school saying
"I'm going to f***ing kill you. I know where you live,* along with other messages talking about drug use. This gamer is known to me and has a history of psychological problems. He has been arrested before for making threats at school. I called the police and made a report. My son blocked him and reported this to PS.
Will these recordings be reviewed by PS? Do I need to send a copy of the police report to PS?
