Account gone

My PSN account is just gone.  I thought maybe my password had changed so I tried to reset it and it said that there is no account associated with that email address.

I was duped into buying a playstation vita when it first released.  I was also duped into a playstation plus membership.  I was a member for over a year and was getting some decent games initially with my membership.  I built up a good library of games.  Unfortunately, I thought those games I got for paying a monthly fee were mine.  I let my membership expire once it got to the point where only indie games were being offered.  My entire library became no longer available.  Apparently, you only get to borrow those games for as long as you're a member.  With nothing good to play on it (and somewhat angry with sony), I stopped using Vita for several months.

Today, I powered it on and went to log into the store to see if there was anything new.  User name and password were still stored in the device but it said it was wrong now.  I went online to find that my login info isn't wrong... my entire account is just gone.

I tried to start a support chat but I needed a new account.  I set one up using the same information as before.  That was enough to allow me to post in forum but I can't start a support chat because it asks for PSN online ID.  I don't have or can't find one.  Apparently it's not the same as the email address I gave when setting up the account.

Furthermore, I tried logging in on my Vita with my new account and it says:  "You must sign in with the account that is linked with this system."  ... Seriously?!

Anyway... Little help over here?
