Hello all, this is my first post and I hope it helps someone out there that was struggling as I was.
So since day one of me getting my PS4 my Network test after setting up has been extremely slow despite having
wired connection, 100/100 speeds from my ISP(fiber optic), and port forwarding as numerous guides have stated to do.
Upon research the first thing I came across was to manual change my PS4 DNS address to either Google(8.8.8.8) or Open DNS.
This solved nothing, next rumor I heard was that Sony has a software cap on data, this I believed(for awhile) only sometimes when I tested I was getting almost full bandwidth.
So that also could not be the reason.
THE SOLUTION: I noticed during automatic connection setup that the PS4 was assigning my routers default address as the DNS server(192.168.1.1) I logged
into my router and found that it was using a DNS address provided by my ISP. I changed the DNS address to that on my PS4. TAhhh Dahh Now Network
Test on PS4 is consistantly hitting 80Mb down and 75-80Mb up.
If you need help with your specific router comment with the router brand and model and I will be more than happy to find where it lists
these DNS addresses.
