The funds could not be added to your wallet. [PS4]

Hello everyone. I searched for this for a while and didn't find any solutions (aside from the generic "check your information" or "contact a live agent") so if there exists one, I apologize for asking again.

I'm on my PS4 trying to make a PSN purchase or add funds to my wallet, but it doesn't seem to work no matter what I try. When I try to make a purchase from within the PS Store on the console itself, I get a generic "An error has occured" message. If I try to add funds on the console, it says "The funds could not be added to your wallet." If I try adding funds on the PlayStation website, it says my billing information is incorrect.

Here's a rundown of my situation:

  • My bank account has plenty of funds to make any purchases.
  • I have tried using both my debit card as well as my PayPal account (on the console and the website).
  • I have tried deleting and re-entering my card information (on the console and the website).
  • I have tried deleting and re-entering my PayPal information (on the console and the website).
  • I have verified the account information with the information on my bank statement (the exact same capitalization, punctuation, etc).
  • I have used the same card, bank account, and PayPal account to previously make purchases on PSN as well as various other websites.
  • I have tried resetting my PS4, logging out/into my account, using a new PayPal account, etc.

Besides buying a physical PSN card, I literally don't know what else to do. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution? Any helpful input from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

EDIT: Seems others are currently having the same problem. Perhaps it's a server-side issue?
